Hey there! My name is Valerie.

I grew up in a lovely small town in California’s Central Valley, and as a child wanted nothing more than big adventures. While I have been fortunate to explore many corners of the world over the last decade, those travels have made me all the more grateful for the small, everyday adventures we experience at home, with those we love.

Several years ago, I created a travel blog by this name while I voyaged around the world working for Semester at Sea. The posts were all lists, because that is how my Type-A mind works. They were each eight items long, because five was never enough for everything I loved, and ten was too Commandment-y.

While I no longer live on a ship, I am still exploring the world in ways big and small, and forever creating lists as I go. Here you will find content on everything from big, multi-country trips to decorating tips to make your home as cozy to hibernate in as possible. Every list is eight items long, because every adventure is a gift.
